Zagreb, 25-26 November 2025 – The IDEAS project has officially launched its operational phase.

We held our kickoff meeting in Zagreb, hosted by the project leading Partner Obrtničko Učilište. During this gathering, we confirmed our comprehensive project management framework and finalized initial planning to achieve our strategic objective: driving systemic change within the European Vocational Education and Training sector by addressing critical barriers faced by disadvantaged learners and expanding their access to international mobility opportunities.

Key outcomes

During the two-day meeting, we:

  • Finalized templates for collecting good practices across European VET systems;
  • Developed criteria for selecting and documenting relevant digital and AI tools;
  • Began testing specific tools to enhance educational material accessibility, including Text-to-Speech applications and readability optimization strategies designed to support disadvantaged learners, while benefiting all students.

Site visits: grounding strategy in practice

To ensure our project outputs reflect real VET contexts, Obrtničko Učilište organized visits to two Zagreb institutions.

During the visits, we met with managers, mobility coordinators, and students to understand their experiences and needs.

These direct engagements with Vocational Education and Training professionals and students provided essential context for developing our project outputs, particularly the e-learning course for teachers, trainers, and tutors. The firsthand perspectives we gathered help us to ensure our resources address the authentic needs of both educators and disadvantaged learners.

Next Steps

We now advance to the research and development phase, building on the frameworks and insights established during this inaugural meeting.
