What the research covers
Through a survey and interviews with 19 organisations, the research maps the main obstacles faced by disadvantaged learners. It also documents numerous practices that support them before, during and after mobility.

The report presents 29 digital and AI tools, tested and scored for their impact on the mobility process, the digital skills they require, their cost, their multilingual support and their accessibility. It closes with a forward-looking scenario that imagines how these tools could support learners at each stage of a mobility.
A method that outlives the tools
Digital tools change quickly, and some of those described here may soon be outdated. For this reason, the report also offers a reusable evaluation method. On this website you will find an online instrument that lets anyone assess new tools with the same criteria.
The starting point of our e-learning course
This research helped us reflect on learners’ and staff needs, on existing practices and on the gaps that remain. It is the foundation on which we build the IDEAS e-learning course.
